Junior guard Ramauhn Brown produced one his top offensive performances of the season on Friday evening as he posted 26 points in a Temple 60-57 victory over Bryan at Wildcat Gym.
Temple came into Friday's contest needing a victory to at least secure a shot at the final playoff spot in 12-6A.
Brown started the game with a 3 pointer and didn't slow down as he drained a trio of 3's on the night but it was his free throw shooting late that held off a fourth quarter Viking rally. Brown sank 6 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal the Wildcat victory.
Temple built a 31-15 lead by halftime as Brown hit 14 first half points with Jamarion Carlton and Jason Bradford also contributing 5 points each.
Despite Brown's 6 third quarter points and Houston Martin's 5 points, the Temple lead was cut to 46-34 going to the fourth. In the fourth, the Vikings outscored Temple 22-12 with all 12 Wildcat points coming from the free throw line.
Besides Brown's 26, Houston Martin had 9 points, Jamarion Carlton 7 points, Kirk Gildon 6 points, Jason Bradford and Ja'Caleb Martin each with 5 points.
