Media Credential Guidelines and Expectations

In an effort to better promote the accomplishments of our students, Temple ISD allows for some media representatives to have sideline or press box access during stadium events.

It is the goal of the Temple Independent School District to provide the media with comprehensive, hospitable services during TISD Athletic events. We appreciate the positive publicity our schools and athletes receive as a result of your work. Collaboration between the athletic office and communications office has formulated a TISD athletic media policy. This policy applies to media outlets interested in covering TISD athletic events held at TISD athletic facilities.

  • Credentials may be given for the season or on a game-by-game basis. Requests for individual games must be submitted no later than noon on the day prior to the game.
  • Final decisions for all credential requests lie with Temple ISD administration and Temple ISD reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials at any time.
  • Credentialing priority for all sports is given to professional media outlets that cover Temple ISD Athletics on a regular basis.
  • Recruiting-related organizations will be denied sideline access, unless those recruiting organizations can show created content related to high school athletics and events beyond recruiting-focused lists, updates, rankings and reports.
  • Temple ISD expects and requires professional conduct by all media members with access to Temple student-athletes. Examples of grounds for credential revocation include, but are not limited to:
    • Violation of any UIL rules.
    • Personal attacks or denigration of any Temple student or staff member in person or online, including personal social media accounts.
    • Unprofessional behavior in person or online, including personal social media accounts.
    • Any racially charged comments through any medium.
    • Inappropriate physical contact or inappropriate verbal exchange with any student, Temple ISD employee, or UIL official.
  • No photographers or videographers in press box
  • No media allowed in Coach/Team/Staff sideline box
  • All media should refrain from communicating with players, coaches, and officials
  • All media should pay attention to the athletes in field of play at all times
  • No FLASH photography
  • Temple ISD retains the rights to use photos/video footage produced for our own promotional purposes free of charge.
