The Tem-Cat junior varsity basketball team returned to Wildcat Gym on Friday to host Killeen Shoemaker.
The Tem-Cats and Greywolves were in a tight battle throughout the night but it was Temple that prevailed 36-33.
Temple was able to build a 12-7 lead in the first as Ka'Myhria Freeman dominated with 8 points in the opening quarter. And in the second, Audrey Troup got hot scoring 7 points and Temple extended their lead to 21-12 by halftime.
However in the third, Shoemaker put together a furious rally to pull withing 29-28 going to the fourth.
In an emotion filled fourth quarter, Temple, with Freeman scoring 4 points held off the determined Greywolves.
The Tem-Cats were led by Audrey Troup and Ka'Myhria Freeman each with 13 points.
Also for the Tem-Cats, Jayden Faulks had 5 points, Aniyah Brumet and Sanaa Rice each with 2 points while Jazarah Canady closed out the scoring with 1 point.
Temple (16-5)will return to action on January 10th when they will host Bryan at Wildcat Gym beginning at 5:30 pm.
