BELTON - The Tem-Cat freshman basketball team had a strong start to the 2024 Belton ISD Tournament as they won a pair of games to start tournament play.
In Game 1, Temple used a 24-6 first half to take down Lake Belton by a score of 35-16.
Jazale Mose and Alearia Westbrook led the Tem-Cats with 7 points each while Cykharia White had 6 points.
Also for Temple, Jonaeshia Harris had 4 points, Emmy Flores 3 points and with 2 points each were Ava Anderson, Komariah Filmore, Meghan Jackson and Alanah Johnson.
Game 2 saw Temple take down A&M Consolidated by a score of 39-17.
Alearia Westbrook led Temple with 11 points while Alanah Johnson had 8 points.
Temple will return to action on Saturday with a matchup with Austin Bowie at Belton High School beginning at 10:45 am.
Also for Temple, Jazale Mose 6 points, Ava Anderson and Cykharia White 5 points and Emmy Flores with 3 points.
Temple improved to 11-0 on the season and will return to tournament play on Saturday in quest of their second tournament title of the season.
