KILLEEN - The Temple junior varsity boys basketball team had a strong opening weekend by taking 1st Place in the Killeen Tournament. The Wildcats were a perfect 3-0 over two days of tournament play.
On Thursday, the Wildcats defeated the Texas Lions by a score of 54-31 as Devonte McClennon tallied 16 points and Sammy Smith chipped in 12.
In their second game of the day, Temple defeated Manor 48-38 as Devonte McClennon led the Wildcats with 18 points and Brendan Watters had 9 points.
Saturday saw the Wildcats wrap up the tournament title by defeating Killeen Chaparral in a nail biter 50-48 as Terrell House had 14 points and Jayden Watkins with 12 points.
Temple returns to action on Tuesday when they will host Pflugerville Connally at Wildcat Gym beginning at 5:30 pm.
