Robinson slips past Tem-Cats 44-39

ROBINSON - The Tem-Cat basketball team had their two game winning streak snapped on Tuesday evening with a road loss at Robinson by a score of 44-39.

The game went back and fourth after both teams were tied at 9-9. Robinson went on a 10-1 run to lead the Tem-Cats 19-12 at the half.

However, to start the third, Temple went on a 10-0 run to retake the lead with Jazaria Jackson's 3-pointer cut the Robinson lead to 21-19 and Jayla Govan gave the Tem-Cats the lead at 22-21. The Tem-Cats won the third quarter but trailed the Rockettes 33-26 going to the fourth. In the fourth, Jesse Johnson tallied seven points, but the rally fell short.

Dejah Thomas had a team high 12 points for Temple while also pulling down 6 rebounds, 2 steals and one assist. Jesse Johnson posted 7 points while grabbing a team high 9 rebounds and 4 steals.

Also for Temple, Dawn Smith had 8 points, 5 rebounds; Kendall Tate 4 points3 rebounds, 3 assist, 3 steals; Jazaria Jackson 3 points, 2 assist; Jayla Govan 3 points, 2 steals and Tierney Perkins with 2 points, 1 assist.

Temple returns to action on November 16th when they will host Godley at Wildcat Gym beginning at 12:30 pm.
