Two minutes into the second half, Temple junior safety Houston Martin returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown that pulled the Wildcats into a 14-all tie with first-place Harker Heights. Suddenly, a share of the District 12-6A championship was within reach for Temple in Thursday night’s lightning-delayed regular-season finale at Wildcat Stadium.

Rocky Crooks had a 1-yard touchdown run in the third period and Zi’Riyan Evans punctuated his 46-carry, 260-yard outburst with a 4-yard TD with 4 minutes left as Harker Heights scored 17 unanswered points to earn a 31-14 victory over Temple.
