The Temple junior varsity girls basketball team opened the season on Friday with a 44-26 victory over Waco University at Wildcat Gym.
Temple exploded by taking the early lead over University 15-3 in the first as Ka'Myhria Freeman poured in six first quarter points and Audrey Troup chipped in five. With six different layer scoring in the second, Temple built a commanding 27-7 lead by halftime.
The Tem-Cats were led by Audrey Troup who had a team high 16 points while Aniya Brumet and Ka'Myhria Freeman chipped in 8 points apiece.
Also for the Tem-Cats, Jazarah Canady and Jayden Faulks each had 4 points and with 2 points each were Sha'Nyah Roby and Aalyiah Abddeen.
Temple returns to action on Tuesday when they will host Pflugerville Weiss beginning at 5:00 pm.
