The Tem-Cat freshman volleyball team capped off another successful weekend of tournament play by winning the Consolation Championship game of the Belton ISD Tournament. Temple topped Georgetown in their final game by a score of 25-22, 25-22 and finished with a record of 4-2 in tournament play.
Temple opened the day with a 25-23, 25-13 loss to Salado to open bracket play. Bryelle Lewis posted a team high 4 kills while also having 3 digs and 1 block. Lyric Skinner also recorded 3 kills. Isabella Alcoser recorded 12 assist and 2 kills and Madyson Combs with 9 assist.
Temple rebounded in their second match of the day as they defeated the Belton B squad 29-27, 25-9. Temple was led by Isabella Alcoser with 12 assist, 3 aces and 4 kills while Madyson Combs had 7 assist, 3 aces and 5 kills. Emory Corley, Claire Snider and Bryelle Lewis each recorded 2 digs apiece. also with 2 kills each were Reliana Jerome and Bryelle Lewis with 2 kills.
In the consolation final, Temple matched up with Georgetown. In what would be heavy weight fight, the Tem-Cats edged out the Lady Eagles 25-22, 25-22. Emory Corley had a team high 11 digs while Madyson Combs posted a team high 5 kills. Isabella Alcoser had 4 aces, 3 kills, 3 assist, 2 digs; Claire Snider 5 digs, Bryelle Lewis 4 digs, 3 kills; and Reliana Jerome with 3 aces, 3 digs, 2 assist and a kill.
Temple (12-4) returns to action on September 10th when the will host Killeen Ellison for their first home match of the season beginning at 5:30 pm.
