TEMPLE, TX — Under a warm, breezy Texas sun on Saturday, the Temple Tem-Cat varsity girls track and field team sent a clear message to the competition: Wildcat Stadium is their territory. Hosting 11 teams for the Temple Relays, the Tem-Cats didn't just win; they dominated, racking up a massive 167.2 points to secure a first-place team finish.

The victory was a true clinic in depth and discipline. Temple's point total more than doubled that of runner-up Lake Belton, who finished with 80.70 points, narrowly edging out Killeen Chaparral’s 80.50 for second.

The Distance Queens and Field Generalship

The day began and ended with standout performances from Analisa Terry, who pulled off a stunning distance double. Terry captured gold in both the 3200 meters (11:55.36) and the 1600 meters (5:35.63). Teammate Maya Ramirez was right on her heels throughout the day, securing 2nd in the 3200 and 3rd in the 1600.

In the field, the Tem-Cats were equally lethal. Damauria Nolan-Hemphill soared to a 1st-place finish in the Long Jump with a leap of 18’4 ¾. Meanwhile, the throwing ring belonged to the Blue and White as Bella Jenkins took 1st in the Shot Put (34’8), while Ka’Myhria Freeman secured the silver (34'0).

Sprinting to the Podium

Temple's relay teams were a model of consistency, placing in the top three across all events. The 4x100 unit (Nolan-Hemphill, Banks, Brumet, Troup) burned up the track for a 2nd-place finish in 48.04 seconds. On an individual level, Audrey Troup and Kylee Dupar were instrumental, with Troup taking 3rd in the 200m and Dupar snagging 2nd in the 300m hurdles and 3rd in the 100m hurdles.
