Any wide receiver would be excited to make two touchdown catches in the first game of his senior season. However, achieving that feat two weeks ago created an especially great feeling for Temple senior slot receiver Stephen Midturi.

During the early part of last season, Midturi played through severe, persistent pain in his left knee, a product of a congenital condition in which his left leg is significantly shorter than his right leg.

“After games and practices, I’d go home and have to ice it because it was hurting so much,” Midturi said. “I was struggling with some cuts and my knee was giving out. I would take ibuprofen or Advil before games to help.”
