The Tem-Cats welcomed perennial playoff qualifier and longtime rival Hewitt Midway to Wildcat Gym to kick off both teams’ league schedule Tuesday night, and the visitors shook off a late comeback attempt from the home squad to come away with the victory.

Temple closed the third set with an emphatic 14-2 run as it tried to mount a late rally after dropping the first two sets, though the Pantherettes put out the fire in the fourth set to post the 25-13, 25-16, 15-25, 25-16 win.
