HARKER HEIGHTS, TX — The Temple Tem-Cat junior varsity basketball team made a loud statement on the road Tuesday evening, dismantling the Harker Heights Lady Knights 58-32 in a District 12-6A showdown.

From the opening tip, Temple’s defensive pressure and balanced offensive attack proved too much for the Lady Knights to handle. The Tem-Cats set the tone early and never looked back, securing a decisive victory that showcased the depth of their roster.

Game Summary: A Second-Quarter Surge

The Tem-Cats jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter, but it was the second frame where they truly broke the game open. Temple outscored Harker Heights 23-6 in the period, fueled by a scoring clinic from Ava Anderson and Meghan Jackson.

Anderson was unstoppable in the paint and in transition, netting 9 of her game-high 14 points in the second quarter alone. Jackson provided a crucial spark as well, chipping in 5 points during the run to help Temple take a massive lead into the locker room.

Balanced Scoring Attack

While Anderson led the way, the victory was a total team effort. Eleven different Tem-Cats found their way into the scoring column, keeping the Lady Knights' defense on their heels throughout the night.

Ava Anderson: 14 points
Meghan Jackson: 7 points
Azul Ceja: 6 points
Cykhiah White: 6 points
Kimorah Fillmore: 6 points
Eowyn Bristol: 5 points
Jazale Mose: 4 points
Jade Donoso: 3 points
Elysia Cortez: 3 points
Emmy Flores: 2 points
Kendyl Pittman: 2 points

The Tem-Cats maintained their composure in the second half, matching the Lady Knights blow-for-blow to ensure there was no hope of a comeback.
