After winning three straight games, Temple had its sights set on first place as it hosted Killeen Shoemaker in a contest between the top two teams in District 12-6A on Friday night at Wildcat Gym.

The visiting Grey Wolves had other plans, however.

Despite a fourth-quarter surge, a cold shooting first half dug the Wildcats into too deep of a hole as Temple fell to Shoemaker 63-53.

The Wolves (15-9, 4-0) were paced offensively by D’Anthony Moore and Beres Henry, who tied for the game-high scoring mark at 16 points each. Jaylen Benning added 12.
