HARKER HEIGHTS — After falling into a 20-point hole against visiting Temple on Friday evening, Harker Heights rallied and created a one-possession game in the final moments.
The Knights could not completely erase the deficit, though.
With 2 minutes, 30 seconds remaining in the third quarter, the Wildcats owned a 48-28 advantage, but Harker Heights entered the final period trailing by just 13 points, 53-40, following an outburst, and for the next eight minutes, the Knights chipped away.
Harker Heights pulled within a point on four separate occasions, including with 3.8 seconds showing on the clock, but Temple managed to deliver the ensuing inbounds pass the length of the court to an open player and time expired with the Wildcats winning 65-64.
