TEMPLE, TX — The Temple Wildcat junior varsity basketball team ignited the home crowd with a dominant start on Tuesday night, but a persistent Midway Panthers squad clawed back in the final minutes to secure a 50-43 victory at Wildcat Gym.

Despite the loss, Temple showcased a balanced offensive effort and individual flashes of brilliance that kept the Panthers on their heels for most of the contest.

Game Recap: A Battle of Momentum

The Wildcats opened the game with defensive intensity, stifling Midway to just 6 points in the opening frame while building an early 12-6 lead. As the physical play ramped up in the second quarter, Dashawn Liggons provided the offensive spark, finding his rhythm from deep to drain two 3-pointers and keep the Temple momentum alive.

The third quarter turned into a high-octane shootout, with both teams trading 15 points in a fast-paced display of athleticism. Temple entered the final period in a position to win, but the Panthers’ offense found another gear late.

In the fourth quarter, Bryson Williams took over the scoring duties for the Wildcats, accounting for 6 of the team’s 8 points in the frame. However, Midway’s 15-point surge in the closing minutes allowed them to overtake the Wildcats and seal the road win.
