After throttling St. Joseph’s from Australia 135-58 two days after Christmas, Temple found itself on the wrong end of a momentum swing by dropping four in a row. So, the Wildcats looked to get back on track going into league play.
Cold shooting prevented Temple from getting into rhythm offensively, though, and the Wildcats fell to Copperas Cove 60-39 in a District 12-6A opener Saturday at Wildcat Gym.
K’Veion Jones led the way for the Bulldawgs (13-6) with a game-high 27 points, followed by teammate Victor Tepzano with 10.
No player reached double figures for Temple (11-12), but DJ Nelson and J’Caleb Martin led its scoring with eight points each.
