COPPERAS COVE - The Tem-Cats stumbled in the second quarter and found it difficult to recover as they fell to Copperas Cove by a score of 42-32 on Saturday afternoon.
After carrying a 15-11 lead going to the second quarter, the Tem-Cats were outscored 12-1 in the second quarter and trailed the Lady Dawgs 23-16 at halftime. Temple cut the lead to 31-27 going to the fourth but couldn't overcome their opponent.
The Tem-Cats were led by Kendall Tate who had a team high 14 points while also collecting 6 rebounds and 6 steals.
Also for the Tem-Cats, Maciah Morgan had 6 points, 2 rebounds; Aniyah Brumet 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals; Jayden Faulks 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals; Jazaeh Canady 3 points, 2 rebounds and Tierney Perkins with 2 points, 4 assist, 3 steals.
Temple (0-2) in district play returns to action on January 6th when the will travel to Hewitt to take on Midway (1-2) at 7:00 pm.
