The Temple Wildcat freshman white basketball team shook off a dismal first quarter with an impressive second quarter to build the momentum to defeat Belton by a score of 50-34 at Wildcat Gym on Friday night.
Trailing 9-0 after one quarter of play, the Wildcats rallied for 20 second quarter points to draw even with the Tigers at 20-20. After struggling in the third and trailing 30-26 going to the fourth, the Wildcat offense exploded for 14 fourth quarter points while holding Belton to 4 points.
The Wildcats were led by Dionte Lee with 13 points while Braylon Edwards had 11.
Also for Temple, Tae with 8 points, Artavious Brooks 6 points, Jaylin Carr 4 points, Marquell Linear 3 points and with 2 points Jalil Wilkerson and Sharrod Bridges.
Temple will return to action on January 3rd when they will host Copperas Cove at 12:30.
