BELTON - The Tem-Cat junior varsity basketball team earned a 3rd Place finish in this weekends Belton sub-varsity tournament as they avenged an earlier season loss to Bryan Rudder to win the trophy game.
In their first game on Thursday, the Tem-Cats fell to A&M Consolidated by a score of 52-38.
The Tem-Cat were led by Cykhiah White with 11 poonts and Emmy Flores with 9 points. Also for Temple, Ava Anderson, Aniya Wilson and Kimorah Fillmore each with 4 points and with 2 points each were Azaria Ellison, Azul Ceja and Alaina Lopez.
Game 2 saw the Tem-Cats rebound for a 48-25 victory over Georgetown East View.
Emmy Flores led Temple with 10 points while Jazale Mose had 8 points. Also for the Tem-Cats, Kimorah Fillmore and Elysia Cortez each with 6 points, Eowyn Briston and Ava Anderson with 4 points and with 2 points each were Jade Donoso, Aniya Wilson, Azaria Ellison and Meghan Kackson.
Saturday saw the Tem-Cats defeat Bryan Rudder in the trophy game by a score of 38-25.
Temple was led by Cykhiah White with 11 points while Azul Ceja and Eowyn Bristol each with 8 points. Also for the Tem-Cats, Emmy Flores and Jazale Mose each with 4 points, Ava Anderson 2 points and with one point each were Kimorah Fillmore and Alaina Lopez.
Temple finished the tournament going 2-1 and improved their season record to 8-4. Temple will be back in action on Tuesday when they will host Waco High at 5:00 pm.
