ROUND ROCK, TX – The Temple Wildcat JV track and field team proved they can bring the heat even in a downpour this past Saturday morning. Despite a slate of cancellations due to persistent rain, the Wildcats secured a 3rd Place team finish with 49 points, trailing only Killeen Chaparral (52) and the host Round Rock (72).

Rain Cuts Competition Short

The meet was an uphill battle against Mother Nature from the start. Field events were scrapped early on, turning the invitational into a running-only affair. However, as the 400-meter dash got underway, the persistent rainfall finally forced officials to call the meet entirely, leaving several events unfinished.

Relay Dominance and Individual Standouts

The highlight of the morning was undoubtedly Temple’s dominance in the relay events. The Wildcats swept the top spot in both completed relays:

4x100 Relay: The team of Jaron Dailey, Bradyn Williams, Mehkai Armstrong, and Eric Shelley took 1st Place with a blistering time of 43.53.
4x200 Relay: Temple repeated the golden performance as Eric Shelley, Jaron Dailey, Tristan Moore, and Bradyn Williams claimed 1st Place in 1:34.32.

On the individual side, Jayhden Conquest turned heads in the 100-meter dash, sprinting to a 2nd Place finish with a time of 11.69.
