ROUND ROCK – Mother Nature proved to be the toughest opponent on the track Saturday morning. Persistent rain and slick conditions forced officials to cancel all field events before the meet even began, turning the Round Rock Invitational into a running-only affair.

The Temple Wildcat varsity squad managed to battle through the elements for several events, but the weather eventually won out. As athletes were competing in the 400-meter dash, the meet was officially called off due to the worsening conditions.

Despite the abbreviated schedule, the Wildcats made their presence felt. Temple finished in 6th Place overall in the team standings with 25 points. Host Round Rock took the top spot with 90 points, followed by Johnson in second with 42.

Top Performances

The highlight of the morning for the blue and white was a dominant performance in the 4x200 relay. The quartet of A’Xavion Latouche, Cameran Richburg, Ramauhn Brown, and Qui’Marion Dobbins braved the rain to take 1st Place with a blistering time of 1:30.12.

In the individual distances, Adan Hernandez delivered a strong performance in the 800 meters, securing 4th Place with a time of 2:01.33. On the hurdles side, Ja’Varion Harris earned a podium-adjacent finish, taking 6th Place in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.69.
