TEMPLE, TX — The Temple Tem-Cat junior varsity soccer team finished their season in spectacular fashion on Thursday evening, dismantling Harker Heights in a 4-0 shutout at the Temple Soccer Complex. The victory served as a perfect finale for a squad that showed immense grit throughout a balanced campaign.

The win puts the final touches on a steady season for the Tem-Cats, who finish with a district record of 5-4-2 and an overall season record of 10-10-4.

A Late First-Half Lightning Strike

While the early minutes of the match were a tactical battle, Temple’s offense erupted in the closing stages of the first half. The floodgates opened with just 8:03 remaining in the half when Paulina Garcia found an opening and fired home the game’s first goal.

The Lady Knights barely had time to reset before Temple struck again. At the 6:47 mark, Elliana Vriseno doubled the lead, clinical in her finish to put the Tem-Cats firmly in control. The momentum stayed squarely with the home team as halftime approached; with only 2:27 left on the clock, Yuridia Rodriguez found the back of the net to make it a 3-0 lead.

Defensive Lock and the Final Blow

Temple’s defense remained a fortress in the second half, neutralizing the Harker Heights attack and preserving the clean sheet. To put the game entirely out of reach, Roos Wannink added the fourth and final goal of the night, sealing the victory.

Paulina Garcia was the standout playmaker of the evening, pairing her opening goal with a crucial assist to help lead the offensive charge.

The 4-0 result is a testament to the growth of this JV squad, who walk off the pitch for the final time this year with a winning district record and a strong foundation for the future.
