AUSTIN - The Tem-Cat junior varsity basketball team earned a second place finish on Saturday at the Austin McCallum Tournament going 3-1 and falling to Dripping Springs in the championship game by a score of 37-34.
In their semifinal matchup with Austin McCallum, the Tem-Cats won 40-16.
Ka'Myhria Freeman led the Tem-Cats in scoring with 12 points while Aniya Brumet and Audrey Troup each hit the double figures mark with 10 points each.
Mariah Dixon had 4 points and with 2 points each were Sanaa Rice and Azaria Ellison.
Temple lost a hard hard matchup with Dripping Springs in the championship game by a score of 37-34.
The Tem-Cats were led by Aniya Brumet and Audrey Troup who each had 10 points while Ka'Myhria Freeman.
Also for the Tem-Cats with 2 points each were Sha'Nyah Roby, Jazarah Canady and Jayden Faulks.
In the nightcap, Temple defeated Marble Falls by a score of 48-20.
Ka'Myhria Freeman led the Tem-cats with 14 points while Audrey Troup, Jazarah Canady and Mariah Dixon 8 points; Jayden Faulks with 4 points and Aniyah Brumet with 2 points.
Temple (5-1) returns to play on Tuesday with a road game at Robinson beginning at 5:30.
