HARKER HEIGHTS - The Tem-Cat Volleyball team earned a huge victory on the road Tuesday evening with a gritty win over Harker Heights on the road 25-27, 29-27, 25-18, 25-19.
The Tem-Cats came into the match losing their last three matches but showed grit and stamina in dropping the first set 25-27. However, refusing to give up the match, the Tem-Cats battled the Lady Knights and grabbed a 29-27 victory in the second set. Temple then kept their momentum and pulled out tight victories in the third and fourth sets.
Kendall Tate had a superb night as she dished out a team high 26 assist and tied for a team high 10 kills to go with 3 aces.
Senior Dawn Smith also dominated at the net as she collected 10 kills and also had a block. Kylie Rayas also had a strong offensive night as she posted 16 assist, 7 digs and one ace. Jaidyn Henry posted 8 kills while Kylie Dixon also posted 8 kills and 6 aces.
Also for the Tem-Cats, Taylor Regula had 6 kills, 3 aces, 3 digs, 1 assist; Dejah Thomas 6 kills, 2 block assist; and Keagan Bankston 2 digs, assist and an ace.
Temple improves to 3-6 on the season and will return to play on Friday with a road match at Killeen beginning at 6:00 pm.
