At one point late in Tuesday’s first set, Temple freshman Kylie Dixon unleashed a hard spike that Killeen’s Dianelis Williams dived to reach and keep alive, only to watch the Tem-Cats’ Dawn Smith deliver the next big swing — this one clean — on the ensuing volley.
It was simply that kind of night for Temple.
The Tem-Cats had seven players record at least one kill, paced by Kendall Tate’s 11, as they breezed past the Lady Kangaroos 25-2, 25-11, 25-9 to record their first District 12-6A victory at loud Wildcat Gym, which was filled with Temple ISD junior high volleyball players there to celebrate middle school night.
