Tem-Cats Secure Silver at Big Green Relays

WAXAHACHIE – The Temple Tem-Cat varsity girls track and field team put on a display of speed and strength this past Friday, securing a 2nd Place team finish at the Big Green Relays. Competing in a crowded field of 11 teams at Waxahachie High School, the Tem-Cats tallied 86 points to claim the runner-up trophy.

While the host team, Waxahachie, took the top spot with 189 points, Temple managed to edge out Rockwall (74 points) to solidify their position as one of the region's top contenders.

Top Performers and Medalists

The Tem-Cats were fueled by several standout individual performances and high-placing relay squads. Bella Jenkins led the way in the field events, earning a silver medal in the Discus with a toss of 108’3. On the track, the 4x100 Relay team (Nolan-Hemphill, Holleman, Brumet, Troup) blazed a trail to 2nd Place with a time of 47.57.

Other podium finishes included:

Damauria Nolan-Hemphill: 2nd Place in Long Jump (17’10) and 3rd Place in the 100 meters (11.79).
Kylee Dupar: 3rd Place in the 100 hurdles (15.58).
Aniyah Brumet: 3rd Place in Triple Jump (35’5).
Cameron Evans: 3rd Place in Pole Vault (9’6).

Looking Ahead

The Tem-Cats will look to carry this momentum into next week as they travel to Dallas for the prestigious Jesuit-Sheaner Relays. The two-day meet will take place on March 27-28 at Jesuit High School.
