The Temple Tem-Cats finished their stay at the Round Rock Westwood Tournament on a high note Saturday morning, putting together a complete performance to defeat the Cedar Hill Longhorns 7-3. The victory secures a stellar 4-1 record for the weekend and pushes Temple's overall season record to 7-5.

Game Recap: Tem-Cats Take Control

After a quiet start, the Tem-Cats’ offense ignited in the top of the third inning. The rally was sparked by Madyson Combs, who scorched a triple down the right-field line. Capitalizing on Cedar Hill miscues—including an error and a wild pitch—Temple jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

In the fourth inning, the Tem-Cats effectively put the game away by tacking on three more runs. The frame was highlighted by a clutch two-run triple off the bat of Sha’kyhria Freeman, extending the lead and providing the cushion needed to secure the win.

Defensive Dominance & Pitching

Temple’s defense and pitching staff remained composed throughout the morning:

London Armour: The right-hander earned the start, giving up only one hit and zero earned runs over four innings of work. She finished with three strikeouts.
Brenna Thomas: Provided scoreless relief in the final frame, allowing just one hit and striking out one to seal the victory.

Defensive Gem: The Tem-Cat defense stayed sharp, turning a crucial double play to stifle the Longhorns' momentum.
