AUSTIN - The Temple Tem-Cats made a loud statement in Austin on Thursday, sweeping their opening pair of games at the Round Rock Westwood Tournament. Behind a potent offense and clinical pitching, Temple shut out Legacy Ranch 10-0 before taking down the host team, Westwood, 5-1.

With the two victories, the Tem-Cats improve their season record to 5-4.

Game 1: Temple 10, Legacy Ranch 0

Temple’s bats caught fire late, turning a competitive game into a blowout with a massive six-run explosion in the sixth inning.

The Big Inning: The sixth-inning surge was punctuated by a three-run home run to center field off the bat of Madyson Combs. Other contributors in the frame included Ava Machuca and Lillian Bolivar, who both drove in runs with singles, while Chiyna Granderson drew a bases-loaded walk.

Early Momentum: The scoring started in the third inning when Bolivar executed a perfect sacrifice bunt to bring home the game's first run.

Dominance in the Circle: Brenna Thomas earned the start and was lights-out, surrendering only one hit and zero runs over four innings of work. She struck out six Legacy Ranch batters.

Lockdown Relief: London Armour provided two perfect innings of relief, striking out two and ensuring the Wranglers never found a rhythm.

Offensive Leaders:

Madyson Combs: 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI.
Ava Machuca: 3-for-5, RBI.
London Armour: 3-for-4.
Lillian Bolivar: 2-for-3, 2 RBI.

Gold Glove Defense: The Tem-Cats played error-free softball, led by Glory Foreman, who handled nine chances cleanly in the field.

Game 2: Temple 5, Round Rock Westwood 1

Temple wasted no time in the nightcap, using a heavy second inning to secure a lead they would never relinquish against the tournament hosts.

Early Strike: The Tem-Cats jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by London Armour.
Answering Back: Westwood briefly tied the game in the bottom of the first, but it would be the only run the Warriors would manage all afternoon.

The Decisive Blow: Temple broke the game open in the top of the second with four runs. Ava Machuca delivered a clutch two-run single, followed by an RBI double from Madyson Combs and another RBI single from Armour.
Winning Pitcher: Brenna Thomas returned to the circle and remained in control. She allowed just two hits and one unearned run through four innings, racking up four strikeouts.

Top Performers:
