HEWITT – The Temple Tem-Cat JV Track & Field team officially kicked off their season on Friday, proving they are a force to be reckoned with this year. Competing in the Panther Relays, the Tem-Cats showcased a balanced attack of speed and strength, securing 2nd Place in the overall team standings with 129 1/2 points.
While host team Midway took the top spot with 137 points, Temple's performance was highlighted by dominance in the relays and a commanding presence in the field events.
Relay Dominance and Top Performers
The Tem-Cats made a statement in the relay events, most notably capturing 1st Place in both the 800 Sprint Medley and the 4x400 Relay. The quartet of Desiree Tools, Jayde Williams, Sidney Mayo, and Faith Bryant closed out the 4x400 with a winning time of 4:32.80, underscoring the team's depth and conditioning.
In the field, Temple’s "throw squad" was particularly impressive. Kimorah Fillmore and Yalynn Brown were relentless, both placing in the top four in both Discus and Shot Put. Meanwhile, Cykhiah White reached new heights with a 2nd Place finish in the High Jump, and Snisia Williams soared to a silver medal in the Triple Jump.

The Tem-Cats will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next competition. Temple will head to Belton High School on February 28 to compete in the Big Red Relays.
