The Temple varsity volleyball team climbed into a third place tie with Bryan in the district standings on Friday night with a dominant 25-7, 25-14 25-14 victory over Killeen Shoemaker at Wildcat Gym.
The Tem-Cats started fast in all three matches and saw significant contributions from numerous players in their sweep of the Lady Greywolves.
The offense looked in good form as the Tem-Cats recorded 41 kills on the night with Kendall Tate dishing out a team high 21 assist and Arielah Vargas tallying 6 assist. Kylie Dixon and Gabi Barbosa led the team with 7 kills each while Kendall Tate, Kylie Dixon and Willow Pratt each had 6 kills.
Defensively, Kylie Rayas led the team with 12 digs while Kylie Dixon had 7 digs.
Individually, Kendall Tate had 21 assist, 7 digs, 6 kills, ace; Gabi Barbosa 7 kills, 4 digs; Kylie Rayas 12 digs, 2 assist; Kylie Dixon 5 aces, 7 kills, 7 digs; Willow Pratt 6 kills, 4 digs, 4 assist, block assist; Mia Taylor 4 kills; Arielah Vargas 6 assist; Jaidyn Henry 6 kills, block assist; Madison Sapp 3 digs1 ace and with 2 kills each were Emory Corley and Willow Pratt.
Temple 3-2 will return to play on Tuesday when they will host Bryan 3-2 at Wildcat Gym in a huge 12-6A matchup. Come out and support the Tem-Cats with tip off set for 6:00 pm.
