WACO– The Temple varsity girls cross country team competed in the District 12-6A Championships on Thursday morning at the HOT Soccer Complex in Waco.
The Tem-Cats earned one of the season long goals and took 1st Place in the teams standings with 37 points while Midway was in second place with 47 points.
The Tem-Cats strength in winning the district championship came on the performance of a trio of Tem-Cats with Maya Ramirez, Analisa Terry and Kaurie Holleman all finishing in the Top 5 spots at district.
Maya Ramirez took 2nd Place in the individual standings with the silver medalist running a 19:51 in the 3 mile course.
Analisa Terry was 4th as she finished in 20:09 and Kaurie Holleman 5th with a time of 20:13.
Just outside the Top 10 was Sterling Griffith who placed 11th overall and completed the course in 21:24.

The District 12-6A champion Tem-Cats returns to competition on October 21 as they will run in the Class 6A Regional Championships hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington.
