BRYAN, TX — Behind an explosive offensive start and a dominant performance from Glory Foreman, the Temple Tem-Cats secured a commanding 9-4 road victory over the Bryan Lady Vikings on Tuesday night. The win moves Temple to 3-1 in District 12-6A play, proving they are a force to be reckoned with on the basepaths.
Foreman Leads the Charge
Glory Foreman was the engine of the Temple offense, turning in a stellar 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Foreman’s impact was felt early and often; she drove in two runs with a single in the first inning, added a double in the second, and capped her night with another base hit in the sixth. By the final out, Foreman had racked up 3 RBIs, leading a Tem-Cat lineup that amassed 13 total hits.
A See-Saw Start
The game began at a frantic pace. Temple struck first in the top of the opening frame when London Armour laced an RBI double, followed immediately by Foreman’s two-run single to put the visitors up 3-0.
However, the Lady Vikings refused to go quietly in front of their home crowd. Bryan capitalized on a walk and back-to-back singles to knot the game at 3-3 by the end of the first inning.
The Big Second Inning
The deadlock didn't last long. Temple "flipped the game on its head" in the top of the second, exploding for five runs on four hits. The rally included:
An RBI double by Sha’kyhria Freeman.
A towering two-run triple by Madyson Combs, which served as the decisive blow to Bryan’s momentum.
By the time the dust settled, the Tem-Cats held an 8-3 lead—a margin they would not relinquish. Ava Machuca added an insurance run in the third inning, battling through a six-pitch at-bat to poke an RBI single down the left-field line.
Thomas Holds the Line
On the rubber, Brenna Thomas showed incredible grit for Temple. Despite facing some control hurdles with eight walks, Thomas went the distance, pitching all seven innings. She surrendered only four hits and four runs while racking up an impressive nine strikeouts to keep the Lady Vikings at bay.
