TEMPLE, TX — It didn’t take long for the Temple JV Tem-Cats to find their rhythm at the plate on Friday evening. Behind a massive opening frame and a steady performance in the circle, Temple cruised to an 11-4 victory over the Killeen High Lady Roos at Tem-Cat Field.
The win showcased a relentless Temple offense that put the game out of reach early, scoring in every inning played to keep the Lady Roos at bay.
Hot Start at the Plate
The Tem-Cats set the tone immediately in the bottom of the first inning. After Killeen managed to put three runs on the board in the top half of the frame, Temple responded with a five-run outburst.
The rally was highlighted by a pair of clutch extra-base hits:
Ava Anderson laced a deep double to ignite the dugout.
Rose Posival followed suit with a double of her own, driving in runs and shifting the momentum firmly back to the home side.
Temple added two more runs in the second inning before putting the finishing touches on the victory with a four-run third.
Performance in the Circle
Ava Anderson wasn’t just a force at the plate; she earned the win in the circle for the Tem-Cats. Anderson kept her composure after a busy first inning, limiting the Lady Roos to just one additional run in the second. She finished her outing with two strikeouts, effectively shutting down Killeen's comeback hopes.
