The Temple Wildcat varsity boys cross team opened their season on Friday morning at Lions Park as they hosted the Temple Invitational.
In a successful start to the season, senior Xavier Tools earned the gold medal in the individual portion of the race while the team also took 1st Place in the team standings.
Temple placed three runners in the top 12 led by Xavier Tools who took 1st place by running the three mile course in a time of 16:02.
Dominick Montalbo placed 8th overall in 17:00 and Adan Hernandez placed 12 in a time of 17:27.
