BRYAN - The Tem-Cat softball team started with a six run first inning and didn't slow down as they defeated the Bryan Lady Vikings in five innings by a score of 13-3.
The six run first inning was was produced by a Lilliana RBI double, Brooke Knox RBI single, Saniya Maxwell 2 RBI double, Nani Rubio sacrifice fly and an error.
Temple would add 2 more runs in the second off a Jordyn Valdez RBI double and a Saniya Maxwell RBI single to left. And then add three more runs on the third on a Brooke Knox RBI single and a Madyson Combs 2 RBI triple to make it 11-0.
The Tem-Cat scoring was capped off in the fifth as Glory Foreman blasted a 2-run home run to left field to make it 13-0.
The Lady Vikings would scratch out a single run in the fourth and two more in the fifth, but it would not be enough to end the game in five innings.
Brooke Knox earned the win on the mound going 5 innings and giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out four.
The Tem-Cat offense cranked out 12 hits with Madyson Combs going 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBI.
Brooke Knox was 2-4, 2 RBI; Saniya Maxwell 2-4, double, 3 RBI; Glory Foreman 1-3, home run; 2 RBI; Lilliana Gandara 1-4, double, RBI; Jordyn Valdez 1-2, double, RBI; Nani Rubio and Ava Machuca each 1-2 with an RBI.
Temple improves to 6-4 in district play and will close out their home schedule on Tuesday when they will host Copperas Cove at 7:00 pm.
