Temple girls win third straight 12-6A track title

COPPERAS COVE — From the first event on the opening day of the meet through the final event Thursday night at Bulldawg Stadium, the Temple Tem-Cats took grasp of their third consecutive District 12-6A track and field team title and never let go.

Kaurie Holleman and Kylee Dupar won races going away, Audrey Troup sprinted to gold and Temple crossed the line first in all three relays as the Tem-Cats totaled 206 points to finish 106 ahead of runner-up Hewitt Midway and secure the girls team crown for the third straight year.

“I feel like this year, our kids have taken ownership of the expectations and know what their job is. We knew we were going to come in here and do our job. I’m thrilled for them that they’re thriving,” said Tem-Cats head coach Tamica Lavan, who has been at the helm for all three titles. “Winning this meet always feels brand new to me.
