The first three innings of Saturday's contest between Temple and Killeen Shoemaker were a pitchers duel between the Tem-Cats Kaitlyn Teeters and the Grey Wolves Kale Clawson. However, the Tem-Cats ended that duel in the fourth with 2-run home run from Madyson Combs and closed out the game with another 2-run home run, this one from Jordyn Valdez, as Temple blanked Shoemaker 10-0 in six inning at Tem-Cat Field.

Teeters was masterful in the circle for Temple, going six innings and giving up zero runs on 7 hits and walking only one batter. She also struck out 3 batters in the process.

Tied at 0-0 in the fourth, Brooke Knox led off the inning with line drive single to center and Madyson Combs broke the scoreless tie with a 2-run home run over the left field wall to start the Tem-Cat scoring.

In the fifth, after a pair of ground outs started the inning before a pair of walks set the stage for Jordyn Valdez to bring home both runners on a fly ball double to left center extending the lead to 4-0. Valdez would complete the scoring in the fifth as she raced home on a ground ball error off the bat of Saniya Maxwell.

Shoemaker would get a pair of single in the sixth, but Teeters was able to end the Grey Wolves threat with a strikeout.

In the sixth, Temple continued their offensive groove with an Ava Machuca and Brooke Knox RBI single followed by Kaegan Yepma scoring on a wild pitch to make it 8-0 Tem-Cats.

Jordyn Valdez would then end the contest as she drove an 0-2 pitch over the left field wall for a 2-run walkoff homer.

The Tem-Cats had 10 hits on the days with Valdez leading the way going 2-4 with a double, home run, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Brooke Knox was 2-3 with an RBI and 3 runs scored; Ava Machuca 2-3, run scored; Madyson Combs 1-3, home run, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored; Nani Rubio 1-2, double, run scored; Kaegan Yepma 1-3, 2 stolen bases, run scored and Saniya Maxwell 1-2.

Temple will be off on Tuesday before traveling to Hewitt on Friday to take on Midway at 7:00 pm.
