COPPERAS COVE - Copperas Cove tallied a trio of runs in the second and fifth innings to defeat the Temple Tem-Cats by a score of 9-2 on Friday evening in 12-6A softball action.

Temple picked up five hits in the game with Lilliana Gandara leading the way going 2-3 with a solo home run in the sixth.

Second baseman Ava Machuca also went 2-3 and Nani Rubio was 1-3 with a double and run scored.

Kaitlyn Teeters started for Temple and went 1 2/3 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits and Brooke Knox went the final 4 1/2 innings giving up one earned runs on five hits.

Temple (3-2, 9-8-1) returns to play on Tuesday when the will host Harker Heights beginning at 7:00 pm.
