Teeters, Tem-Cats take down Killeen 19-0

KILLEEN - Senior Kaitlyn Teeters drove in four runs on two hits at the plate and tossed five inning of no-hit ball on Friday night as the Tem-Cats defeated Killeen by a score of 19-0 in a 12-6A matchup on the road.

Teeters went 2-3 at the plate with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored and was pivotal to the Tem-Cat offensive explosion. However, in the circle, Teeters shut down the Kangaroo offense giving up zero runs and no walks as she struck out four on the night and earned the victory.

Temple exploded for seven runs in the first, keyed by a Teeters RBI single, Gabi Barbosa 2 RBI single and Glory Foreman 2 RBI double. Temple would continue to tack on runs with 2 in the second, 1 in the third, 3 in the fourth and 6 more in the fifth.

Temple racked up 13 hits overall. Saniya Maxwell 2-5, with a double, RBI, 3 runs scored; Nalicia Crathers 2-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored; Lilliana Gandara 1-3, run scored; Chiyna Granderson 1-2, RBI, 2 runs scored; Kaegan Yepma 1-3, run scored; Gabi Barbosa 1-1, 2 RBI, run scored; Nani Rubi 1-2, run scored; Jordyn Valdez 1-2, 3 runs scored and Glory Foreman 1-2, double, 3 RBI and run scored.

Temple (2-1, 8-7-1) returns to action on Tuesday when they will host Bryan beginning at 7:00 pm.

In an earlier contest, the Tem-Cat JV defeated Killeen by a score of 16-3.
