HAYS - The Temple Tem-Cat softball team went 1-1 on day two of the Heart of Hays County Tournament on Friday.
Temple won their opening matchup with Pflugerville Hendrickson 3-0 before falling to the host team Hays by a score of 6-0.
In their 3-0 victory over Hendrickson, Jordyn Valdez went 2-3 with a pair of runs scored while Saniya Maxwell and Kaitlyn Teeters each had an RBI.
Kaitlyn Teeters earned the victory on the victory on the mound going 6.0 innings and giving up 0 runs on just five hits.
Game two saw the Tem-Cats fall to Hays by a score of 6-0.
Temple picked up 4 hits on the evening with Madyson Combs going 2-2 at the plate and Jordyn Valdez was 1-3 with a double.
Brooke Knox took the loss on the mound going 4.0 innings while giving up 5 earned runs on four hits and 3 walks.
Temple will close out tournament play on Saturday with games against Pflugerville Connally at 9:00 am and Austin Bowie at 11:00 am.
