ATHENS - The Temple Wildcat basketball team concluded a successful weekend in the Athens Invitational with a 2nd Place finish and 4-1 record over three days of play.
The Wildcats matched up with #7 ranked Highland Park in the tournament championship game but fell short to the Scots by a score of 80-60. Ramauhn Brown tallied 15 points while Jamarion Carlton 9 points and 14 rebounds.
The road to the championship game started with a 66-51 win over Corsicana in which Ramauhn Brown, Houston Martin and Jamarion Carlton each had 16 points.
In Game 2, the Wildcats led off a hot shooting Jacksonville team 67-65 as Houston Martin had 25 points and 7 assist while Jamarion Carlton had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Game 3 saw the Wildcats blow past Henderson 87-44 as Houston Martin sank eight 3-pointers and 36 total points.
The semifinals saw the Wildcats face another hot shooting team in Kaufman but held on for a 60-57 victory. Ramauhn Brown had 20 points and 7 steals while Houston Martin had 22 points and 5 assist.
Temple (7-3) returns to action on Tuesday when they will host a traveling team from Australia at Wildcat Gum beginning at 7:00 pm.
