COPPERAS COVE - The Tem-Cat Volleyball team started out strong against a very good Copperas Cove team on Friday evening as they took the first set from the Lady Dawgs by a score of 25-22.

However, the Tem-Cats , looking to open 12-6A play with a road win could not hold off the talented Copperas Cove team as the Lady Dawgs rebounded from the first set loss to defeat Temple 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18.

The Tem-Cats were led by sophomore Kendall Tate posted 10 kills, 15 assist, 5 digs and a block. Another sophomore, Kylie Rayas dished out a team high 17 assist while also dishing out 7 digs, 4 kills and 3 aces.

Also for the Tem-Cats, Dawn Smith 8 kills5 digs, block; Taylor Regula 7 kills, 4 aces, 13 assist, block; Kylie Dixon 5 kills, 13 digs, block, ace; Jaidyn Henry 4 kills, 2 digs, 3 blocks; Keagan Bankston 10 digs, 2 aces; Dejah Thomas 2 kills, 4 blocks and Arianna Mascari 3 digs.

Temple 14-17 overall and 0-1 in district play returns to play on Tuesday with a road match at Midway beginning at 6:00.
