BRYAN - The Tem-Cat Volleyball team closed out the tournament part of their season with a pair of hard luck losses on the final day of the Legends Invitational.
Temple opened the day with a 25-21 victory over Caney Creek in their opening set, however, the Tem-Cats were edged out in the final two sets 25-22, 25-21 to drop the first match.
Dejah Thomas led the Tem-Cats in kills with 9 while Dawn Smith was close behind with 8 kills and 11 kills and 2 blocks. Kendall Tate dished out 22 assist while collecting 9 digs, 2 blocks, 3 kills; Keagan Bankston 9 digs, 3 kills, 2 aces; Kylie Rayas 10 digs, assist; Kylie Dixon 8 digs, 2 kills, 5 aces and Willow Pratt with 2 kills, 2 blocks.
In their second match of the day, the Tem-Cats fell to Huntsville by a score of 25-15, 22-25, 25-21. Kendall Tate recorded 25 assist, 10 digs and 3 kills while Keagan Bankston had 4 digs; Dawn Smith 3 kills, 5 digs; Kylie Rayas 14 digs; Dejah Thomas 6 kills, 3 digs; Kylie Dixon 7 kills, 4 digs; Madison Sapp 2 digs; Jaidyn Henry 6 kills 4 digs and Willow Pratt 5 kills.
Temple (13-15) returns to play on Tuesday, September 3rd with a road match at University beginning at 6:30 pm.
