SALADO — The Temple High Junior Varsity Boys Cross Country team put in a determined effort Thursday morning at the Salado Cross Country Invitational, taking on a competitive field at the scenic Tenroc Ranch.

Navigating the 5,000-meter course, the Wildcats secured an 8th-place team finish, accumulating 200 total points. College Station captured the overall team championship with a top score of 39 points, followed closely by Killeen Harker Heights (53) and Waco High (58).

Junior Weston Ricks led the charge for Temple, crossing the finish line in 23:39.21 to earn 32 points toward the Wildcats' team total (53rd place overall). Freshman Robert Ramirez followed right behind, delivering a solid performance with a time of 24:01.03 (40 points, 57th overall).
