SALADO - The Temple High Varsity Boys Cross Country team put together a commanding performance on Thursday morning at the Salado Cross Country Invitational held at Tenroc Ranch in Salado. Racing through the course, the Wildcats secured a 3rd place finish in the overall team standings, tallying 84 total points and placing three runners among the meet’s top medalists.

Salado took the home victory with 25 points, while Killeen Harker Heights secured the runner-up spot with 67 points. Temple outpaced several tough regional competitors, including College Station (101 points), Westwood (129 points), and Elgin (155 points).

The overall 5K race was led by event champion Seth Anderson of Salado, who set the pace for the field:

Temple Medalists & Top Performers

Freshman standout Easton Williams led the charge for the Wildcats, crossing the finish line in 17:39.86 to earn a 10th-place finish and a top-10 medal. Close behind was junior Joe Vargas, who secured 12th place in 17:49.38. Senior Titus Tamez rounded out Temple’s impressive early pack by grabbing 14th place overall in 18:08.46. Senior Roberto Borbonio Cavazos also brought home a top-20 medal after taking 19th place with a time of 18:32.67.
