ENNIS — In its first trip to the girls soccer playoffs since the 2022 season, Temple gave Mesquite all it could handle Friday night before the Skeeters scored in the second half of overtime to post a 2-1 victory over the Tem-Cats in a Class 6A Division II bi-district match at Lion Stadium.
Temple (8-12-2) finished with four shots on goal and one corner kick, and goalkeeper Skylar Licudine recorded eight saves.
Kallie Vasquez scored the winning goal for the Lady Skeeters (12-9-3), who finished with 10 shots on goal and six corner kicks, while Isabella Degelia tallied a trio of saves.
