Temple can’t get offense on track in loss to Waxahachie

MEXIA — In its sixth straight trip to the playoffs, Temple saw its season come to an end with a first-round setback Thursday night.

Waxahachie played most of the game in its offensive zone, scoring three goals in each half as the Indians posted a 6-0 win over the Wildcats in a Class 6A Division II boys soccer bi-district match at Blackcat Stadium.

The Indians (18-3-3) tallied 22 shots on goal — 16 in the first half — as well as a trio of corner kicks. They were led by Andrew Guevara, who netted a hat trick. Matthew Lopez and Sergio Gasca combined for a clean sheet in net.
