The Temple Wildcats boys soccer team played to a hard-fought 1-1 draw** against the Round Rock McNeil Mavericks on Tuesday night, with all the scoring action packed into an exciting first half.

The Wildcats came out aggressive and struck first, taking an early lead thanks to a goal from Javier Orzua Sanchez. Temple appeared poised to carry that momentum and a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break, controlling the pace for much of the period.

However, the Mavericks managed to shift the energy in the final moments. With just 10 seconds remaining on the clock in the first half, McNeil found the back of the net to equalize, sending both teams into the locker room deadlocked at 1-1.

Following the flurry of action to end the first half, the second half turned into a defensive struggle. Both teams created opportunities, but neither side could break the stalemate. The defenses tightened up, resulting in a scoreless final 40 minutes to seal the tie.

Up next, the Wildcats will look to get back in the win column later this week as they travel to compete in the Bastrop Tournament.
