DENTON - The Tem-Cat Volleyball team had a successful start to their first tournament of the season as they went 2-1 on the opening day of pool play in the Denton Kickoff Classic.

Temple fell in their opening match to Red Oak in a tight match by a score of 25-23, 24-26, 27-25.

The Cats would rebound to take down Denton High in two sets 25-20, 25-23 and close out the day with a 25-17, 25-10 victory over Lubbock High.

Improving to 3-1 on the season, Temple will return to action on Friday with three more pool play games.

Saginaw @ 12:00 pm

Following the conclusion of pool play on Friday, the Tem-Cats will be placed into bracket play on Saturday.
